Frequently Asked Questions
What does a Tour Leader do?
A Tour Leader accompanies a group throughout a planned trip or program, making sure the itinerary is followed, the arrangements run as expected and participants have the support they need. The focus is on on-site delivery and looking after the group.
What is the difference between a Tour Leader and a Tour Guide?
A Tour Leader focuses on group coordination, logistics, schedules and participant assistance throughout a trip. A Tour Guide typically provides destination-specific interpretation, historical information and guided sightseeing. The roles can overlap, but their main responsibilities are different.
Do you organize the trip, or accompany a program planned by an agency?
I accompany programs that have already been organized, usually by an agency or DMC. I don’t plan the trip: as a Tour Leader, my role is to be on site, coordinate the arrangements, support participants and make sure the itinerary is delivered as planned. If you also need someone to organize the event itself, I offer that through my event management services.
Do you coordinate transfers, activities and restaurant arrangements?
Yes, as part of the existing itinerary. I confirm timings with suppliers, guide the group from one point to the next and make sure transfers, activities and meals take place as planned.
Can you handle unexpected changes during a group trip?
Yes. I stay calm and look for practical solutions, whether it is a schedule change, a supplier issue or a participant request. I work with the partners involved to solve it on the spot and keep the agency informed when a decision is needed.
Which languages do you speak as a Tour Leader?
I am fluent in Spanish, English, Italian, German and French, and I have a basic level of Portuguese. This lets me talk directly with participants, hotels and local suppliers, whatever the group’s background.
Where are you based and where do you work as a Tour Leader?
I am based in Berlin and work mainly across Europe, but I go wherever the group travels.
